So you mentioned that
there are two things that are your favorite
things in the world. Your daughter, what’s her name? Brooklyn Michelle Paige Shaw. How old is she? She’s four years old. Four years old. All right, so she is one
of your favorite things. What’s your other
favorite thing? Basketball. Yeah, you were just telling me
how much– what do you play? What’s your position? I don’t know. Shooting guard and point guard. I don’t know what that means. [LAUGHTER] I don’t even know
why I asked that. But do you have a
favorite player? Dwyane Wade. Dwyane Wade, why is that? I like the way he carries
himself off the court. Oh yeah? Yeah. Let’s see how he carries
himself out here. Dwyane, come on out. [CHEERING] [MUSIC – MONTELL JORDAN, “THIS
IS HOW WE DO IT”] This is how we do it. This is how we do it. What’s up, my brother? This is how we do it. Hello. How are you? I’m good. How are you? This is how we do it. It’s Friday night,
and I feel all right. How about that? Surprise. Pretty cool. Yeah. I was telling him
during the break. I said, God, you’re so calm,
and cool, and collected. And he said, well,
I play basketball, and it comes down to the
last shot in the game, so you have to
keep yourself cool. So that’s what I’m
doing right now. Oh my goodness. [LAUGHTER] And then we just went,
and blew your mind. So he just dropped everything. We told him that you loved him,
and that he was your favorite, and so he just flew
out here for you. Thank you. I’m glad I can be here. Thank you. You know, when you get an
opportunity to sit across from someone and say, what
would you say to them? You know, and I look at you– I know you don’t want
to be called a hero, but I look at you
as an American hero. Thank you. I would sit across
from you as I am now, and I will say, obviously
how brave you are, but for me, when I
sit down with my kids, and I sit down and talk to
them about role models, who I want them to
look up to, I tell them to go look up James Shaw. Wow. Thanks for being there, man. Thank you. Thanks for being there. Thank you. Yeah, it’s awesome. And also I think you have
something for James as well. Well, I brought a gift. I brought a gift, but I
had a question as well. I just want to know
from coming from you, from all of this,
what do you want to see coming from all of this? So what I want to see
come from all of this is it’s a public health
problem that we have. It’s a mental health
problem that the United States as a whole has. One in five individuals
in the United States suffer from some kind
of mental disorder, and that’s close to
like 45 million people. So that’s a very large,
and eye-raising problem. So I want to bring some
kind of awareness to it. I have a four-year-old daughter. So I don’t want her
to live in this world as she matriculates,
and gets older. I just don’t want her
to live in that problem. So if I can help
that problem, then I think that’s what I should do. I agree. We need to do
something about that. That’s awesome. So I do have a gift for
you, if you don’t mind. I don’t know where it’s at. Oh, here we go. So I as well have a
check for you from me. Thank you. But for $20,000 as well. I knew Ellen was doing some. I couldn’t be outdone. So I want to make sure
I matched it as well. How cool is that? Here you go. This is for you. Dwyane, thank you so
much for being here. Thank you. Thanks for having me.
