My name is Abby Jones, and I’m talking about
the process of moving into a new apartment. And, right now I’m talking about arranging
your furniture in your living space, and how to go about arranging your furniture. It’s
important that, that’s the first thing that you do when you’re setting up a new space,
is to arrange your furniture because these are the big, these are the big items in the
room that are going to really create the space where you’re organizing smaller things. And,
they create the context of the room, and the boundaries of the room. And, I’ve, one of
the first things I did was to figure out where I was going to put my couch. I chose this
space for my couch because my apartment is relatively open in this area, and I wanted
to create you know, a space for my living space. I wanted to set that space apart somehow.
So, placing my couch like this sets my living space apart from my entry, and it also utilizes
this support beam right here, to use that as kind of a natural barrier to separate that
from my kitchen area, which is over there. And, then once I put a rug in this area it
will also separate it from my closet and bathroom area. So, that’s something that you might
want to think about as you’re placing your furniture, especially if you have an open
space is how to create smaller spaces within larger spaces.
